Tim was one of the kindest people I have ever met and a person with whom working together was always a pleasure. He combined a light touch with an ability to see the broader picture and an eye for detail. That is an unusual combination, to say the least. I first met Tim in 2006, and was immediately struck by his sincerity, conscientiousness and competence. I worked with him in the contexts of Eurocentres, Eaquals and the Council of Europe and it never quite felt like work. It was always a creative, friendly and very personal process, because Tim put so much of himself into everything he did. In working groups, we all really looked forward to seeing each other – at meetings, in the evening, on the tram. Everybody liked him. Everybody loved meeting him; he always brought such a positive atmosphere; we talked about so many things. We will all miss Tim terribly; he was such a nice, modest, competent, fun and good person.
